One last thing to mention is the Overlay, is there anyway of creating an underlay like a coloured strip behind the writing.

This way if the camera has colour changes that cause the writing to be obscured with a transparency setting a colour could be applied to make sure the writing is always clear.

Yes, I noticed this. It's very annoying.

I'll try to fix it to the next release.
The biggest problem is to make this new option to fit in the settings dialog

For the time being you could always use, the string "████████████████████" and past that in to Text 1 dialog, set font to lucida console, and make that a color, then in another dialog make your the text you want to put on top, with the same position, and a different color, thats how i got around the problem...
