At what sequence do you save the pictures ?
I suppose when using the high resolution mode, saving every second is simply not possible.

I'm almost sure you have Windows Vista as OS on your computer. The settings aer stored in the Yaxcam installation directory , but Windows Vista just give read & execute rights in the " C:\Program Files\[Yawcam_installation_directory] ". On my WindowsXP machine i found the settings file...

I think you have Windows Vista or higher.
The reason is simple,
If you don't run the application as an administrator, you haven't enough rights to write in the "C:\Program Files\[Yawcam_installation_folder]".

My guess is that when you are not logged on to your computer,
Not all driovers are loaded like they would be when logged in.
That's the only explaination i can give.

After all your registry is part user related, part machine related.
So a part of the registry is not loaded yet.
