feature request: shortcut for image overlay x/y shift

Post by Cyberfly »

Hi there,

I have a feature request on behalf of a research group doing quantum optics. We are using Yawcam to look at our samples with a confocal microscope (see attached picture). We are using an overlay image to facilitate overlap of several laser beams as well adjusting their perpendicularity via focus wobble. Since the spot is never perfectly centered in the microscope image it would be nice to have a shortcut to adjusting the x and y shift. Maybe ctrl dragging?

I wish a similiar function, but I think an easier handling.
I would use YAWCAM for a webcam on a polarfinder. These finders have markings for the center and one, two or ... stars (google images -> polarfinder brings several samples). It would be nice to fit the overlay with just two click-combinations (enter and one star). Means I click on the center of marking in the camera-image, then on the center of the overlay and the same for the star. Just resize and rotate the overlay to fit.
