Image Retention

Post by generalsu »

Is it possible for Yawcam to create a separate folder for each hour, for example, during the image array capture, so it's easier to find, if and when something happens?

you should be able to if you set something like C:\yawcam\{tstampH}\.

I haven't tested this though.

At settings, where you define the path for the images to be saved, enter:
X:\SomeFolder\{dateY}-{dateM}-{dateD}\{tstampH}\File_{dateY}-{dateM}-{dateD}_{tstampH}-{tstampM}-{tstampS}.jpg
(X=the drive you want them to be saved)
That'd create a folder named 2012-11-17 (current date), inside that it'd create
a folder named 07 (current hour, 24h format) & finally it'd save the images like
this: File_2012-11-17_07-05-30.jpg.
Press the "info" button under the path to see the available formats. "Play" with
it & adjust it the way you like.

Is it possible to do this with Motion FTP Upload? I tried the same formula, but Yawcam would NOT upload. The FTP option would only work when there are no subfolders. Looks like Yawcam is unable to create dynamic folders on the fly while uploading the images.

No, it's not possible. But it's on the suggestion list:
